Coronavirus shows our system is broken

If there is one important lesson to be learnt from the current crisis (assumimg more proof was required post the 2008 crash), it's the 'revelation' that the neoliberal economic model doesn't work when it really matters.

Whether coronavirus, climate change or whatever comes next, unconstrained free market capitalism can't solve the big challanges society faces because the only solution it ultimately offers is to leave the weak, vulnerable and marginalised, the poor, old and young, to fend for themselves.

Whereas big problems need big, joined up, communal answers (often difficult ones) that treat everyone equally and fairly.
