Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles

Really wasn't expecting to like this. In my head Sam Fender was going to be yet another 10-a-penny, pop-folk Sheeran clone. But an interview in Q and spin on Spotify proved me wrong. Maybe he's not quite the Springsteen of North Shields (not a useful comparison anyway). But if you want power-pop with a political edge, then Sam's debut is pretty fine.
